Walter J. Heumann

Heumann, Walter J.Walter J. Heumann passed away on May 18, 2011 at the age of 97. Born in Germany to Max and Hermine Heumann in 1914, he was educated in Switzerland, spent his working years in England where he and his wife built a fashion business, and lived his later years in California to be near his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife Freda, and by his beloved companion of later years, Erna Karlsberg. A cosmopolitan gentleman, his interests included finance, world events, government and policy, and his mind stayed sharp into his final days. He loved to tell stories, especially about fond memories, and his family was very important to him. He will be sorely missed by his sister Lisa Hirschfelder, nieces Susan (Harold) Wise, Barbara (William) Ascher, and Louise Black, grand nieces and nephews Julie, David, and Diana Ascher and families, Lauren Wise Fischoff, Alan Wise, and Robin Wise Sheperd and families, and by his stepsons, Michael Karlsberg, Dr. Ronald Karlsberg, and step grandsons David, Douglas, and Daniel.
