In 1981, at the age of 64, she entered Scripps College in Claremont, California where she obtained her B.A. in English literature in 1986 Â- the only grandmother in the dormitories at Scripps, and the subject of a profile in the Los Angeles Times. After graduation she maintained an active social and community life in Pasadena and Santa Barbara, traveled frequently, and embarked on the substantial project of translating the published memoirs of her mother-in-law Esther Miller from Yiddish into English. Ann will be remembered by all who knew and loved her for her quick wit, ready song, love of family, and zest for life.
