Zelda Stern

Stern, ZeldaDecember 28, 1912 - January 22, 2011Zelda was born in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois in 1935. Two years later she moved to Los Angeles and within a few months met the "man of her life" Aleck Stern (deceased 1984). They married shortly thereafter. Zelda was truly one of a kind. Her sense of humor, knowledge of politics, passion for good food and pride of family endeared her to all. Dressing impeccably was her signature. Zelda and Aleck operated the successful Stern Barber and Beauty Supply business in the Fairfax district for nearly 20 years until they retired in 1976. Zelda is survived by her two sons Joseph (Karen) and Larry (Janet); three grandchildren Joshua (Karen), Luke (Brandi) and Ryan; four great grandchildren Ashley, Alec, Brooklyn and Dax. We will miss her loving smile and the sound of her voice.
