McQueen convinced him that Hollywood was the place to go. McQueen knew that he would make himself famous, and wanted Steve Ross to go with him. Steve Ross then moved to Hollywood in 1954 where he became an acting coach. He soon gave into his need to continue traveling, and headed to Israel where he lived on a Kibbutz for several months. He continued to travel around the world where he took in cultures, learned about people, and learned about himself. When he eventually returned to the United States, he came back to Los Angeles. Steve's insatiable desire for learning landed him back in school when he decided to attend college as an adult. His acting took a back seat to attending U.C.L.A. where he received his B.A. He continued on to receive a Master's degree and then a Ph.D. in Psychology. During his schooling he made a living by writing. He authored many articles and short stories. As a Psychologist, he had been working on a book concerning the unexplored foundations of psychological health, which will be published posthumously. Steve Ross used his life experience and insight to become an incredibly effective Psychologist and helped hundreds of clients before partially retiring. Although Steve Ross was 82, he seemed twenty years younger and never lost his keen insight, intelligence, and mental energy. He passed on that passion for life to his son, Steven Ross, with whom he had a wonderful and close relationship. He will be missed and never forgotten by many.Donations may be made to Bet Tzedek, an organization that provides free assistance to people of every racial and religious background at its headquarters in the Fairfax area and its office in North Hollywood and at more than 30 senior centers throughout Los Angeles County. Here is the information for the gathering after the service:The Smoke House Restaurant4420 West Lakeside DriveBurbank, CA 91505-4016(818) 845-3731Time: Immediately following Service (apx. 3:15 pm)
