Services for Alvin "Pancho" Hochart , 87, will be Friday February 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton with family receiving friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa in Knoxville or to the Williamson First Reponders. Alvin was born July 11, 1924 in Almitz, Iowa to John and Victoria Marie (Carlier) Hochart. He attended school in Williamson and joined the Navy on July 20, 1943. He was discharged in May 1, 1946 with rank of Coxswain. He was married to Martha Louise Cain at the Williamson Community Church on September 2, 1945. They were blessed with three children: April, David, and Paul. He worked as a mill operator for Firestone from 1953 to 1985 and was a member of the UAW Local 310. Alvin loved to camp, fish, travel, attend musical festivals, wood working; and most of all loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He belonged to the American Legion, the Democratic Party, was a member of the Williamson Fire Department and Williamson City Council. o Boys State thru the Legion. His wife Martha passed away in 1995. He was married to Mary Buckalew in 1996 and welcomed her children to his family. Alvin passed away February 21, 2012 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha in 1995; his wife, Mary in 2005; and brothers: Fred, Edward, and Leon. He is survived by his children: April (Gary) Verwers of Knoxville, David (Cindy) Hochart of Lawson, MO, Paul Hochart of Springs, NY, Terry (Edie) Buckalew of Browning, IL, Richard (Phyllis) Buckalew of Abingdon, Deb (Brian) Stephens of Leon, Diane (Kim) Buckalew of Williamson, Doyle Buckalew of Williamson, Carroll Buckalew of Mason City, and Teresa (Dale) Buckalew of Williamson; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Kelley of Bedford, VA; relatives and many friends.
