Robert E. "Bob" Risser, 79, of Overland Park, Kansas, and formerly of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away March 1st, 2012 after a long and courageous fight against cancer. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 5th at Atonement Lutheran Church in Overland Park, Ks. Visitation will be from 10:00 till 11:00. Donations may be made to Atonement Lutheran Church where Bob was a faithful servant. 9948 Metcalf Ave. Overland Park, Ks. Bob was born in Maquoketa, Iowa to Clay and Ruth (Estey) Risser on August 21st, 1932. Bob was a graduate of Grinnell College with a degree in business. He spent his years following in Waco, Tx. and Des Moines, Iowa moving to Overland Park in 1970. Bob loved his work in the trucking industry working for Ruan Trucking in Des Moines and retiring as an executive from Kaw Trucking and Liquid Transport of Kansas City in 2000. Bob was an Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War as an instructor pilot on B-25's in Waco, Texas. His love of golf, boating, flying, family and friends continued throughout his life. g) of Maquoketa, Iowa and three wonderful and loving daughters, Sherri Cale (husband Mike), Stacey Hassig (husband Doug), and Michele Hobby (husband Claud) all of Kansas. Bob was a proud grandfather of eight, Courtney and Dylon Cale, Nick and Logan Hassig, Jared, Carson, Kaitlyn Hobby and Jessica Tuma. Bob has one great granddaughter Kaleigh Tuma. He also survived by one brother Bill and wife Marilou of Des Moines Iowa. Well done Bob-you will be missed.
