Mrs. Margaret J. Werking, a longtime resident of Sauk Drive in Port Washington, passed away Saturday morning, March 3, 2012 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. She was 91 years old. Margaret was born September 15, 1920 in Duluth, MN, the daughter of Thomas and Goldie Lane Anderson. On January 2, 1942 she was united in marriage with Melvin Werking in Duluth, MN. He preceded her in death in 1981. The couple ran Werking's Dairy and Darihaus in Port Washington, and Margaret continued to operate the business after Melvin's death. Margaret had been a member of the Legion Auxiliary as well as the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid Packer fan who enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles. Margaret is survived by her children: Tom (Carol) Werking of Port Washington, Melvin Jr. "Vinnie" of Fountain Hills, AZ and MaryDell (Tom) Hill of Port Washington. She is further survived by 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law June (Alfred) Kohlwey of Grafton, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
