Michael Barry Brown

Michael Barry Brown, 65 passed away surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, March 10, 2012. Mike was born January 30, 1947, in Greenville, SC. He was a custodian at H.V. Bear Elementary School for 34 years. For last 5 years, he was a greeter at the Franklin Walmart. He was a faithful member of Community Pentecostal Worship Center, where he loved his Pastor. As a child he was a member of Boy Scout Troop 55, where he earned numerous awards and ranks of which he remained proud. Mike was preceded in death by his father Robert Brown and mother Inez Paynes Brown, brothers Milton Brown and Ralph Brown. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rita Fowler Brown, sons Reggie (Lesa) Shouse, Matt (Randi) Slusser, Kevin Slusser, daughter Jami (Ryan) Poynter, grandchildren Ryan, Mattison, Alexis, Hunter, Tyler, three sisters Victoria (Bill) Hunsaker, Elaine Garrish, Sharon Abrams, sister-in-law Bonnie Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.
