Sylvia Kummer Margolis July 10, 1922 - March 15, 2012 Sylvia. "Joie de vivre" says so much of who she was. She loved life, love, words, dancing, foods, people, travel, books, Judaism, her grandchildren, her family and her friends. All with a passion not easily equaled. Sylvia, born in the Lower East Side of New York City in the summer of 1922, personified beauty, elegance and eloquence, and she left a mark on every continent she graced, and on every person she encountered. She kept a majestic home in the Huntington Palisades, where she entertained with poise and style, often relying on the musical talents of her husband, her children and grandchildren to fill her home and her heart with pride. Sylvia was a renaissance woman; she wore many hats and wore them well; she was a Registered Nurse, a wife, a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and she spent several decades as a Cultural Ambassador, leading tours around the world for the California Doctors Symphony Orchestra Society and through her own travel business.
