e Henderson Consolidated School Board. He was a member of the Henderson United Methodist Church and served as superintendent and lay leader for many years. Curt was a member of the Henderson Volunteer Fire Department, serving many years as assistant chief. He was a member and the past president of the Farmer's Market Association, and a founding member of Mills County Crime Stoppers and Southwest Iowa Crime Stoppers. Curt was also a member of the Mills County, Iowa and National Rural Letter Carrier's Association, and served on the Mills County 911 Board. He was a member of the Ruby Smith Post No. 648 of the American Legion in Macedonia and a member of the Coral Masonic Lodge No. 430 AF & AM in Carson. Curt was a member of the Henderson City Council, served as mayor and was currently Henderson's Mayor Pro-Tem. Curt and Lucille had been married nearly 60 years when Curt died at the Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA on June 24, 2002 at the age of 81 years, 3 months, and 30 days. Curt was preceded in death by his parents, son Larry Taylor, son-in-law K. Robert Barham, and brother Gomer Vinton Taylor. He is survived by his wife Lucile Taylor of Henderson, IA; daughter Ilona Barham of Omaha, NE; sons Rolfe Taylor and wife Kathleen of Knoxville, IA and Mack Taylor and wife Renate of Glenwood, IA; sisters Velma Johnson and husband Vernon of Glenwood, Vera Price of Rogers, AR, Wilda Price and husband George of Rogers, AR, Erma Taylor of Port Huron, MI, Lavonne Riggs of Omaha, NE, Lauretta Dyer of Springdale, AR; sister-in-law Mary Taylor of Rogers, AR; five granddaughters and one great grandson; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
