Maxine Evelyn Bogan Morris, one of six children of Clarence and Bessie Parker Bogan, was born in Clarinda, IA on March 2, 1914. She graduated from Clarinda High School in 1931. Maxine was married to Neal Fred Morris on July 10, 1933 and this marriage was blessed with two daughters Nancy and Jeanette. She lived in Iowa most of her life except during World War II when the family lived in California. They returned to Iowa in 1945 and resided in Avoca until 1976 when she and her husband moved to Avon Park, FL. Maxine and Neal had been married for 67 years when Neal died on August 15, 2000. Maxine then made her home with her daughter Nancy and son-in-law Jack Macklin until she became a resident of Crown Pointe Independent Living Facility in Sebring, FL on March 15, 2001. She immediately found friendship among the residents at Crown Pointe and was very involved in the many activities there. Maxine was an avid reader, bridge player, and sports fan especially of the Atlanta Braves. She looked forward to the Bible Studies and Worship Services regularly held at Crown Pointe. ations. Maxine died on September 8, 2002 at Crown Pointe Independent Living Facility in Sebring at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 5 days. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers and sisters. Maxine is survived by her daughters Nancy Macklin and her husband Jack of Frostproof, FL and Jeanette Reuter and her husband Arlen of Northfield, MN; grandsons Tom Macklin and his wife Tammy and daughters Amanda, Allison, and Jennifer; Richard Macklin and his wife Taria and daughter Rachel all of Avon Park, FL, and David Reuter of Applevalley, MN; granddaughters Ellen Macklin O'Neill and her husband Stephen and sons Christopher, Patrick, and Matthew of Issaquah, WA and Donna Reuter Beaver and sons Jacob and Nicholas of Eagan, MN. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 12, 2002 at the Hertz Funeral Home in Carson at 11:00 AM. Orris Drake of Walnut, pastor of the Shelby United Methodist Church will officiate. Family and friends are invited to join the Reuters and Macklins for a fellowship luncheon at the Carson American Legion Hall following the service.
