Cameron William Blackburn, one of two sons of Stephen Glen and Susan Beth (Crouch) Blackburn, was born at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska on September 6, 1988. The family lives in Glenwood, Iowa where Cameron attended the Glenwood Community Schools and completed the 8th grade.
Cameron loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and he was always anxious for the next outing. His love for the water and swimming earned him many competitive ribbons as a member of the Glenwood Flyers Swim Team.
Cameron's enjoyment of music earned him a position as First Chair tuba player for the Southwest Iowa Honor Band and All-State Honor Band, as well as the Glenwood Middle School Band. Cameron died suddenly on Wednesday, June 18, 2003, as a result of injuries received in a tragic farm tractor accident at his families ancestral homestead near Thurman, Iowa. He had attained the age of 14 years, 9 months, and 12 days.
