Norma was born September 26, 1923 in Carson, Iowa to Charles Hannibal and Esther Mary (Rose) Raney. She graduated from Carson High School in 1941. On October 6, 1942, Norma was united in marriage to Carl McKenzie at Papillion, Nebraska. To this union were born two children, Carol and Robert. Norma lived most her life in Carson except for 17 years in Arkansas. Norma worked many years as a waitress at Sparky's in Carson, and for five years for the Riverside Middle School's lunch program. While Norma lived at the Hawkeye Apartments she served as the Assistant Property Manager. She was a member of the Carson Presbyterian Church and a 50 year member of the Carson American Legion Auxiliary. Norma loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed baking and working with the public. Norma died at the Oakland Manor Care Center in Oakland, Iowa on July 18, 2003, having attained the age of 79 years, 9 months, and 22 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marguerite, and son-in-law Ronald Henderson.
