Harley Rose Richter

Harley Rose Richter, daughter of Shawn Lee Richter and Manda Kay Reed, was born prematurely on June 22, 2003 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Harley weighed 2 lb. 3.6 oz. at birth and 5½ lbs. when she was released from the hospital on August 14, 2003. Harley lived with her parents at their home in Glenwood, Iowa. On February 18, 2004, Harley was discovered to be unresponsive. She was transported by helicopter to the Nebraska Health System's University Hospital where she died upon arrival. It was determined that Harley had suffered from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. She was 7 months and 26 days old. Harley is survived by her parents; grandparents Cathy and John Vanatta of Randolph, Iowa, Gayle Richter of Malvern, IA, Phil Richter and his wife Rhonda of Malvern, Charles Reed of Council Bluffs, Iowa; great grandparents Jerry and Doloris Morgal of Malvern, Mary Richter of Wesley, Iowa, and Glenn and Darlene Thacker of Springfield, Missouri.
