Marge A. Hunt

Marge Anne Hunt, one of four children of William Magnus Price and Freda Rose (Petersen) Price, was born on January 9, 1938, at her parent's farm home in York Township near Minden, Iowa. Marge grew up in Minden and attended York Rural School No.1 and graduated from Oakland High School in 1956. Marge and Charles LeRoy Hunt were united in marriage at the First Baptist Church in Glenwood, Iowa on February 10, 1957. They made their first home on a farm east of Carson, Iowa where Marge helped Charles with the farming. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Richard Charles and Cherie Lynn. In 1969, they purchased a farm west of Macedonia, Iowa. In the fall of 1979, Marge accepted a position with the Carson-Macedonia School District as cook at the Macedonia Elementary School, which she continued until 1996. In April 2002, Marge was diagnosed with cancer. For 2½ years, Marge put forth a tremendous fight against her cancer and never gave up hope. On November 11, 2004, she was admitted to the Oakland Manor Nursing Home. 10 months, and 4 days. Among Marge's enjoyments were her family, gardening and flowers, baking and decorating special occasion cakes for friends, and bird watching with Charles. She always loved sewing and in recent years had more time to devote to her life-long love of quilting. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Glen Price and LeRoy Price, and brother-in-law Harold Floerchinger. Marge is survived by her husband Charles L. Hunt of Macedonia, Iowa; son Rick Hunt of Phoenix, Arizona, and daughter Cherie Freed and her husband Christopher of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandchildren Lyndsey Lee Mackie and her husband Colby and their daughter Laney Lee of Phoenix, Kyle Richard Hunt of Phoenix, and Joshua Patrick Freed of Scottsdale; sister Elsie Floerchinger of Ankeny, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and friends.
