Gladys Glendalyn Roenfeldt, one of four children of Rosa M. "Klahn" and Claus F. Husz, was born at her parent's home near Treynor, Iowa on August 3, 1918. Gladys attended Zion Congregational Church in Treynor and graduated from the Treynor High School in 1936. Gladys and Floyd Louie Roenfeldt of Mineola, Iowa were married at the Zion Congregational Church in Treynor on November 25, 1936. They made their home on the Roenfeldt farm outside of Mineola and were blessed with three sons Floyd Junior, Kenton Frederick, and Rodney Lee. Gladys enjoyed her role as a mother and farm wife. She cared for the home, and prepared all of the meals for Floyd and the other farm hands. Gladys and Floyd attended the St. John Lutheran Church in Mineola, where they were active members. Gladys served as secretary and treasure for the American Lutheran Church Women and was the past stewardship co-chair, organizing quilt making for charities. Gladys loved to quilt and she and the other members of the A.L.C.W. made several each year for various projects. e farm to their new home in Mineola. Floyd and Gladys had been married 48 years when Floyd died on March 13, 1995. Gladys continued to live in her Mineola home, and remained active in the church and community. In October of 2004, Gladys's health forced her to move to the Risen Son Christian Village near Council Bluffs, IA. Gladys died at Risen Son on December 11, 2004, at the age of 86 years, 4 months, and 8 days. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband Floyd Roenfeldt, infant son Floyd Roenfeldt, Jr., and brothers Orville Husz, Marvin Husz, and Glen Husz. She is survived by her sons Kenton Roenfeldt and his wife Trisha of Mineola, and Rodney Roenfeldt and his wife Cindy of Columbia, SC; grandchildren Kenton Roenfeldt II, and his wife Jennifer and their sons Kolton and Kaden all of Council Bluffs, IA, Kirk Roenfeldt and his wife Nannette and their children Alexia, Ahnika, Kaylie, and Braden all of Auburn, WA, Kreg Roenfeldt of Rexburg, ID, Katherine Roenfeldt of Ames, IA, and Kimberly Smith and her husband Tillman of Charlston, SC; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
