ember 1998, Leta moved to the Oakland Manor Care Center in Oakland, Iowa and Madge followed to Oakland Manor one year later. They continued to enjoy each others company until Leta's death on December 5, 2003, just 12 days following her 100th birthday. Madge died at the Oakland Manor Care Center on July 14, 2005 at the age of 100 years, 8 months, and 14 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alfred, daughter Margie Trede; sister Leta Tripp; grandson Jeffrey Fender; and great grandsons Rich Sternberg, Roddy Sternberg and Ryan Sternberg. Madge is survived by her sons Lyle Trede and his wife Mary Lua of Carson, IA and Gayle Trede and his wife Ruthie of Ralston, NE; daughters Marilyn Fender and her husband Edwin of Carson and Roberta Downey and her husband Mike of Council Bluffs; special nieces Phyllis Robinson, Luanne Bisbee, and Dolores Ossian; 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 16 great great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
