William Hoffman

William "Bill" Patrick Hoffman, the son of Joseph Bernard Hoffman and Elsie May (Matlack) Hoffman, was born on July 16, 1944 in Benzinger Township, Elk County, Pennsylvania. Bill grew up in Centerville, South Dakota where he graduated from high school in 1962. Following school, he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was an operating room medical technician and served until 1966. On August 4, 1969, Bill and Ruth Ann Johnson were married in Denver, Colorado. They made their home in Omaha, Nebraska and their marriage was blessed with daughters, Jennifer Lynn, Patricia Ann, and Kristy Marie. They later moved to Glenwood, Iowa, where Bill worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. Bill continued to work for the telephone company through several name changes and retired from Qwest Communications after 31 years. Bill was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Glenwood and enjoyed Bible studies. He enjoyed anything to do with trains, and playing the trumpet.
