Leland "Lee" E Christiansen

Leland "Lee" E. Christiansen, 85, Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. He was born on February 25, 1927 in Birnamwood, Wisconsin to the late Fred and Ella (Bublitz) Christiansen. Lee was proud of serving his country in the U. S. Marines Corps during World War II. He married Marjorie Elkey on February 7, 1948 in Green Bay. He graduated from Barber College in Green Bay and later owned and operated Lee's Barber Shop. He later retired from the U.S. Post Office as a rural letter carrier. Lee cherished and was very proud of his family. He and Margie enjoyed dancing and traveling with their friends. He took great care of his yard, loved to garden and feed the birds. Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Margie; a son, Steven (Lyn) Christiansen of Green Bay; a daughter, Kay (James) Van Laanen of Green Bay; four grandchildren, Richard (Sara) Berceau, Kelly (Jason) Hartl, Clifford (Tracy) Hook, Mitch (Amy) Christiansen; seven great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Jonah, Kobe, Logan, Evan and Madyson; a sister, Jeannine Peterson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. will be held at Lyndahl Funeral Home on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 8 :00 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, April 7 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 S. Broadway, from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Rev. Michael Baucom officiating. Military honors to follow.
