Glennie Dicks, age 100, passed from this life on April 9, 2012 at the Centerville Nursing and Rehabilitation, under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice. Funeral Services will be Wed. April 11 at 10:30 am at the Sinnott Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Albia with Rev. Richard Grimes officiating. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 9:30 -10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow services in Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia. We, the family, wish to thank Sinnott Pierschbacher Funeral Home for their service and concern. Glennie was born June 25, 1911 to Roy and Pearl "Long" Scott. She was one of five children: sister, Ruth "Scott" Kluver, brother, George Scott, sister, Bernice "Scott" McGuire, and sister, Jospehine "Scott" Moffitt. Glennie joined in Marriage to Samuel Truxton Dicks, on June 4, 1929. From this union came three sons: Paul, Richard, and Donald. She was a talented and special lady. She enjoyed raising beautiful roses and gardening. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed watching television. Gleenie and her husband traveled extensively and enjoyed their vacations. e played the piano at the Wesley Chapel, east of Moravia. Glennie was a long time member of the Iconium United Methodist Church, where she spent a great deal of her time serving the lord. She is survived by her children: Paul E. (Phyllis) Dicks, Richard Dicks, both of Moravia, and Donald D. (Joyce) Dicks of Plano; three grandchildren, Fonda (Hopp) Dicks, Stephanie (Hall) Dicks, Michelle (Moore) Dicks, sister, Josephine Moffitt, nine great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. She loved her family dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband Samuel, siblings, Ruth Kluver, George Scott, Bernie McGuire, and one grandson, Nick Dicks.
