Shirley Lydia Shelton

Shirley Lydia (Lohnes) Shelton, 82, of Okeechobee, Florida formerly of Hollywood, Florida passed away at her home on Sunday, April 15, 2012. She was born in Pekin, Illinois on August 9, 1929, one of eleven children, Shirley was the daughter of Dallas and Lydia E. (Lay) Lohnes. A homemaker, Shirley moved to Hollywood, Florida in 1956 from Green Valley, Illinois. While in Hollywood, she was an active member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 150 in Hollywood. She moved to Okeechobee in 1997 to be closer to her son Duane. Survivors include her son, Duane Bowman and his wife Linda Bowman, with whom she made her home. Daughter Lavon Neal, five grandchildren, Richard, Duane III, Brenda, Tara and Renee. Also survived by nine great grand children, two great great grandchildren, three sisters, Wilma Jean Weigand, Marjorie Vogelsang and Eunice McCario, one brother, Richard Lohnes and many nieces and nephews. Visitation on Thursday, April 19th from 10:00 ~ 11:00 at Fred Hunter's Memorial Garden Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood with a service immediately following at 11:00 A.M.
