Margaret "Midge" Dean Burgoin

Margaret Dean Burgoin, the youngest of six children of Elige Davis "Ed" and Anna Charles (Waugh) Riggins, was born on September 14, 1923 in Malvern, Iowa. Fondly known as "Midge", she attended school in Malvern and Silver City, Iowa, and graduated from the Silver City High School in 1941. Midge and Jack Eugene Burgoin were married on October 7, 1944. They made their home on the Burgoin family farm near Silver City and their marriage was blessed with two children, Rex Eugene and Peggy Marie. Midge was a homemaker and mother while Jack farmed the land his great grandfather, Silas Morse, homesteaded. Midge and Jack were married 58 years when Jack died on July 13, 1984. Midge continued to live on their farm. Midge was a member of the Silver City United Methodist Church and United Methodist Church Women group, Order of Eastern Star and a Past Matron, and the Silver City American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed working on scrapbooks. Midge especially loved spending time with her family. Midge passed away on April 20, 2012 at Hospice with Heart in Glenwood, Iowa, at the age of 88 years, 7 months, and 6 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and An...[more]

Riggins; husband Jack Burgoin; infant son Charles Burgoin; grandson Sam Rupe; brothers, Rollie Riggins and wife June, Donald Riggins and wife Bonnie, Russell Riggins and wife Betty; sisters, Dorothy Belle Riggins, and Marie Robbins and husband Robert; and sister-in-law Patricia Hunt. Midge is survived by son Rex Burgoin and wife Gloria of Silver City; daughter Peggy Rupe and husband Dick of Pacific Junction, IA; brother-in-law Bill Hunt of Silver City; four granddaughters, Valerie Ramsey and husband Terrell of Silver City, Megan Stevens and husband Justin of Bellevue, NE, Jackie Wright and husband Mike of Missouri Valley, IA, and Jill Kendall and husband Steve of Bellevue; eight great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
