Alice Marie Johnson, 96, of Allison, Iowa, passed away on May 19, 2012, at the Waverly Health Center in Waverly, Iowa. She was born in Butler County, Iowa on January 23, 1916, the daughter of Wiard and Hannah (Heeren) Folkerts. Alice spent her entire life in Butler County. She went to Allison High School and graduated in 1934. Alice was a member of the United Church of Christ in Allison. On September 29, 1937, she was united in marriage to George S. Johnson. In the Spring of 1938, they moved to a farm Southwest of Allison and farmed there until the Spring of 1979, when they moved to Allison. Alice also helped her husband with the farming. She liked to work in her garden and make quilts. Alice enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Roger (JoAnn) Johnson of Aplington and Wayne (Janis) Johnson of Newton, a son in law, Chris Dreesman of Cedar Falls, a sister in law, Rosie Johnson of Waterloo, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and four nieces.
