Miss Mary Evelyn Cloke, 63, of Hope Haven Walton Group Home died at 11:47 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born June 23, 1948 in Jefferson County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Lester and Mary (Cubbage) Cloke.
Miss Cloke worked at the workshop of Hope Haven. She was of the protestant faith and enjoyed crafting, being with family, friends, her extended family at Hope Haven and spending time with her sister Rose. She loved singing and Elvis Presley.
Survivors include four sisters, Rose (Bill) Saben of Burlington, Irma (Bill) Patterson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Helen (Lou) Walker of Mission, Texas and Margaret (Joe) Nelson of Gardendale, Alabama; five brothers, Reuben (Carolyn) Cloke, James (Margaret) Cloke, William (Nancy) Cloke and Raymond (Betty Armstrong) Cloke all of Burlington and George (Sue) Cloke of East Brewton, Alabama and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Robert Cloke.
The memorial funeral service for Miss Cloke will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2nd, in Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Randall Gearhart will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in Maple Hills Cemetery, Birmingham...[more]
