Beverly Jean Smith

Beverly Hayes Smith of Fort Lauderdale, FL lost her battle with Cancer on June 23, 2012. Born on January 18, 1936 in Cortland, NY the eldest of 13 children. Beverly relocated to South Florida in 1983. She was employed at Motorola for eighteen years before retiring. She became an active member of the Fort Lauderdale Seventh-day Adventist Church where she became an elder and served as the Director of Community Services. Her passion was her family, the Lord and serving the needy through the Fort Lauderdale Seventh-day Adventist Church food pantry, where she served others for 15 years. Among her achievements she was the recipient of numerous awards from the church in recognition of her distinguished humanitarian work. In 2008 Beverly's community services work at the Fort Lauderdale Seventh-day Adventist Church food pantry was featured on WPLG TV Channel 10 under their segment Good News. Beverly will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
