Jane Pesicka

Mary Jane Pesicka was born on December 18, 1926 to Wilma Wildin in rural Kossuth County, Iowa, at the farmstead of her grandparents. Jane attended school at rural Kossuth county schools, the 9th grade in Algona and then was schooled in West Bend. Jane spent the early years of her married life to Carl Grisham working hard on a farm in Cresco Township where she enjoyed gardening, cooking and playing cards. They were married in 1943. In 1960 the family moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri where they built, owned and operated an A&W Root Beer Drive-In Restaurant. A short time later, Jane moved back to Algona and married Leonard Pesicka. In 1985 Jane moved to Elmore, Minnesota with her companion Ed Miller. Jane and Ed lived there until 2009 when health began to fail and they moved to Van Buren Terrace in Algona. She lived there until October 2010, when she became a resident of the Algona Manor Care Center. She also enjoyed spending winters in Texas, traveling the United States as well as socializing and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Wanda and husband Terry Tieman of Burt, Iowa and Gary Grisham and friend Jeanette of Burt; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother Rob Kuhlman and wife Faye of Algona; sister Helen and husband Clint Godden of Waterville, Minnesota; sister Dianne Fish of Algona and daughter-in-law Viv Grisham of Gaylord, MN. Jane was preceded in death by her mother and three sons, Marvin Grisham, Merrill Grisham and Leland Pesicka, two grandchildren and two great granddaughters
