William "Bill" Wiener

William "Bill" Lee Wiener was born November 16, 1939, at home in rural Palo Alto County, son of William Grady and Irene (Knudson) Wiener. Bill graduated from Fenton High School in 1957. Bill was united in marriage to Sandra Ellefson on July 31, 1961. Bill and Sandy lived in California from 1961 to 1967 where he worked at Thomas Engines. The couple decided "home" was a better place to raise a family and they moved back to Fenton in 1967. Bill then worked as a carpenter for Bob Naig and also for Bruhn Builders. Farming was his true desire and he began farming in 1974. Bill experienced numerous medical setbacks in life. Despite the disabilities these setbacks left, Bill maintained a positive "not-gonna-get-me-down" outlook on life. His attitude and actions provided a positive influence on those who knew him well. Bill passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012, at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
