Ronald Watson Derby, Iowa Services for Ronald Watson, 70, of Derby will be July 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Interment will be at the Derby Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to the Legacy Lodge- Circle of Life Hospice or to the Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center. Ronald K. Watson was born October 9, 1941 to Harry and Marjorie (Hawkins) Watson in Wayne County. He graduated from Derby High School in 1959. He married Jennie Chandler and they were blessed with three children: Jeff, Rachelle, and Jeanne. Ronald welcomed Teresa and Kerry to the family when he was married to Virginia Clark on January 16, 1981. This union was blessed with a son, Justin. He retired from Hy-Vee in 2004 after working there for 36 years. Ronald loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting arrowheads, fishing, deer hunting, and working with his foxhounds. He liked woodworking and his garden. Ronald was creative and always making something. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Ronald passed away July 6, 2012 at the Legacy Lodge at the age of 70. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; children: Jeff (Margy) Watson of Altoona, Rachelle (Billy) Diehl of Montgomery, TX, Jeanne Watson of Des Moines, Teresa (Marvin) Pollock of Humeston, Kerry (Steve) Gillman of Chariton, Justin Watson of Des Moines, Jacinda Roueyeush of Larchwood and Jindra Smith of Pennsylvania; 22 grandchildren: Matt, Travis, Jessica, Brittany, Jordan, Krista, Payten, Scott, Bruce, Beth, Alaina, Megan, Tyler, Cody, Logan, Kendall, Dawson, Christian, Brennan, Joshua, Jonathan, and Jennalee; and 8 great grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings: Shelby (Marvin) Skinner and Harry (Sue) Watson. Preceding Ronald in death were his parents: Harry and Marjorie (Hawkins) Watson.
