Donald Malitz

Donald Malitz Sr., of Pearson, died Monday, July 9, 2012 at Langlade Hospital under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 81 years old. He was born on January 8, 1931 in Pearson, a son of Emil and Fern (Kneizl) Malitz. He married Nannette Powell on September 23, 1950 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lily. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2000. He attended Pearson and Cloverdale grade schools. He worked as a dairy farmer and logged for many years in the Pearson area. For 23 years he worked for Hooper Construction putting up power lines throughout the midwest. Mr. Malitz was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Pickerel, the National Rifle Association and the Pickerel-Pearson Lions Club. He enjoyed hunting fishing and trapping. Waukeegan, IL; two brothers Robert (Janice) Malitz, Pearson, Mike (Janine) Malitz, Mosinee; a sister-in-law Elaine Malitz, Prentice; many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Clements, two brothers Ben and Herbert Malitz. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Pickerel with Rev. Michael Mathey officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
