William "Bill" Gran DAVENPORT, Iowa--William "Bill" Gran, 71, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Genesis West Medical Center in Davenport, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. A Memorial Service may be planned at a later date. The Runge Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. Per Bill's wishes his body has been donated to the University of Iowa for research purposes. Memorials may be made to The Research in Anatomy and Cell Biology Fund or The National Parkinson's Foundation. Bill was a member of the National Association of School Psychologists, Iowa School Psychologist Association and he was involved in the National and State Council For Exceptional Children. Bill's hobbies were fishing, gardening, reading, golf, tennis and spending time with the grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife, Carol Gran of Muscatine; a daughter, Lori Vander Werff and husband, Duane, of Story City; a son, Mike Gran and special friend, Traci, of Citrus Heights, California; and two grandchildren, Laurence and Nathan Vander Werff. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Gran; and a half sister, Lois Campbell.
