Earl "Butch" Marks IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Earl Francis "Butch" Marks, 79, of Wilton, died on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at the Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012, at the funeral home. "Butch" was born on August 26, 1932, in Tipton, the son of Raymond and Velma Schmidt Marks. He graduated from Tipton High School, class of 1951. He married Kathryn Butterfield on December 29, 1952, in Rowley. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Marshall Islands during the Korean War. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathryn Marks of Wilton; his daughter Cindy Gavin and husband, Jim, of Wilton; sons, Brent Marks and wife, Deanna, of Wilton, Curt Marks and wife, Cathy, of Dubuque, and Jim Marks and wife, Angie, of Dana Point, California; his grandchildren, Jared Marks and wife, Carmen, of Canton, Michigan, Kyle Marks of Salt Lake City, Utah, Erin Gavin of Dubuque, Amanda Gavin of Wilton, and Colby Marks and Sawyer Marks, both of D...[more]
