Myra Joy Christopher, 79, of Fort Dodge passed away on Wednesday February 8, 2012 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday February 11, 2012 at North Lawn Cemetery with a memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Myra was born on a farm near Lake City, IA on January 8, 1933 to Lawrence and Alma Roseke. She grew up in the Lake City and Gowrie area and graduated from Gowrie High School in 1951. She then attended and graduated from the Iowa State Teachers College in 1953. She married Harold Allen Christopher on November 5, 1955 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Farnhamville, IA. She taught school for a few years and then worked in the customer service department for Sears & Roebuck for many years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and was a member of many church choirs over the years. She enjoyed collecting antiques and traveling with Harold.
