Leo Frehse, 61, of Centerville, Iowa formerly of Nemaha, Iowa passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at his home in Centerville, Iowa. Memorial services will be 9:30 AM Monday, August 13, 2012 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Nancy A. De Vries of the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Dodge officiating. Burial will be in the North Lawn Cemetery. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his two children, Matt (Carolyn Benz) Frehse of Rapid City, SD and Kari (Adam) Porsborg of Jamestown, ND; one grandchild, Alyster Benz-Frehse; three brothers, Steven Frehse of Nemaha, IA, Jerry Frehse of Carroll, IA, and Gene Frehse of Humboldt, IA. He is preceded in death by his wife Cindy on March 27, 2012, his parents, a niece, Abigail Scott and a nephew, Cory Allen Frehse.
Leo Dean Frehse, the son of Alvin and LaVola (Boose) Frehse, was born May 10, 1951. He graduated from high school and later college with a B.S. degree in teaching. unities in Iowa then finally to Sturgis, South Dakota where they lived for 20 plus years. In 2009, they moved to Centerville, Iowa. Leo worked for the Campbell Supply Company for 25 plus years. Leo was an avid gardener.
