GAIL RAMER FRUITLAND, Iowa - Gail A. Ramer, 84, of Fruitland, died on Monday, August 20, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Ray Oehme of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church will officiate. Casket bearers will be Doug Ramer Jr., Cody Ramer, Timmy Ramer Jr., Justin Ryan, Chase Ryan, Logan Wheeler, and Luke Long. Burial will take place in Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2012, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Angie Koppe. Gail was born on December 11, 1927, in Muscatine, the son of Harry and Kathryn Hill Ramer. He married Jean Starkweather on September 23, 1970, in Muscatine. She preceded him in death on November 19, 2011. He had worked as a car salesman and later owned The Bargain Mart. He was a member of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church. He enjoyed going to auctions and loved doing yard work and wood working. He had a special love for animals.
