Sharon Crist CORALVILLE, Iowa--Sharon Ernestine Crist, 70, of Coralville, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at her home. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at the Coralville United Methodist Church followed by a reception at the church. Graveside Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Cedar Bethel Cemetery in rural Louisa County, near Letts, Iowa. Following the graveside services a reception for family and friends will be held at the Letts United Methodist Church in Letts. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Sharon's memory to the Coralville United Methodist Church or the March of Dimes. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Sharon's family and her services. Sharon was born on March 6, 1942, in Des Moines, the daughter of Ernest and Pauline Jordan Cochran. Following graduation from high school in Des Moines, she attended and graduated from the University of Iowa with her nursing degree. In 1986, they moved to Coralville where at this time Sharon worked as a registered nurse in special care nurseries at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, retiring in 2001. Sharon was a member of the Coralville United Methodist Church, in the past she was active in 4H, Little League Baseball, the Federated Club and TTT. Her family includes her husband, Harry Crist; their children, Todd Crist and wife, Janelle, of Germantown, Tennessee; Amy M. Crist of Coralville; Seth S. Crist and Debra Williams of Des Moines; Pauline A. Crist of Iowa City, and Elijah P. Crist and wife, Leah, of Boston, Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Jenna, Stephanie, Logan and Keegan Crist; and her brother, Jerry Cochran and wife, Sally, of Hoboken, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents.
