Raymond Christian Widowski

Raymond Christian Widowski, Lt. Cmdr USN retired, age 84, of AZ; passed away peacefully Monday, August 20, 2012 in Phoenix, AZ. Raymond was born in Cleveland, OH on October 20, 1927 to Martin and Cecelia, (Eierdam) Widowski. He served in the U.S. Navy for 28 years on five different carriers during WW II, Korean War, and Viet Nam. Raymond married Phyllis Una (Whiting) of Somerset, Bermuda in 1950. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ted, Bud, and Wally, and a sister Shirley. Raymond is survived by his wife of 62 years Phyllis Widowski; 3 children Martin Widowski and wife Susan, Lisa Widowski, and Julia Sizemore and husband Tom; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren; a sister Carol Brodehl and husband Wayne; and a brother Charles Widowski and wife MaryLou; various nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends . Funeral services are Saturday September 1, 2012 at 12pm at Anderson Funeral Home 40 N. Main St Springboro, OH. Visitation will be Saturday from 11am until the time of the service.
