enison, Iowa and later received training in telephone engineering at Michigan State University and Iowa Central Community College. Marion served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 and then re-enlisted and served during the Korean War. Stations served included Great Lakes Naval Station, Memphis, Norfolk, Panama, Nicaragua, San Diego and Jacksonville. On October 26, 1944, Marion was united in marriage to Jane Ann Dollarhide in Des Moines, Iowa. They moved to Alameda, California and in 1947 returned to Iowa to live in Gowrie, Battle Creek and Sac City before moving to Fort Dodge in 1965. They moved to Denison where they lived from 1972 to 1978 and then returned to Fort Dodge. Marion was employed for 40 years with Centel, retiring on October 30, 1986 as State Personnel and Public Relations Manager for Iowa-Missouri. On April 14, 1996, Marion was united in marriage to Iona Lynch in Fort Dodge. Marion was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a former member of First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed model building, building doll houses, restoring old furniture, traveling and camping. He also loved the Iowa Hawkeyes and enjoyed winters he spent in Florida. Marion especially treasured time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
