Laurence Kessler WEST LIBERTY, Iowa --Laurence Joseph Kessler, 88, died on Monday, September 10, 2012, at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2012, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. A memorial fund has been established. Laurence was born on January 19, 1924, in Cosgrove, Iowa, the son of Leo and Mary Walsh Kessler. He graduated from Lone Tree High School. He was united in marriage to Leona Jedlicka on January 16, 1946, in Lone Tree. The couple farmed in the West Liberty area for many years. Following their retirement, they moved to West Liberty. Laurence was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty. His hobbies included reading and socializing with people.
