Dixie L. Smith, 68, of Burlington, died at 12:20 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2012, at Burlington Care Center. Born August 31, 1944 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Ralph Smith and Bertha (Bennett) Lack. She loved playing BINGO, watching cartoons and singing. She was a very cheerful person. Survivors include one brother, Richard Smith of Burlington; her step-sister, Betty (Ray) Ward of Burlington; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, her mother, her step-father, Clarence Lack and one brother Jerry Lack in infancy. There will be no visitation or service at this time. Cremation has been accorded. Lunning Chapel has been entrusted with Miss Smith's care. [more]
