Patrick Hines, 24, of Fort Dodge, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, September 28, 2012, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge with Rev. Lyle Hansen officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge. Patrick Alon Hines was born on May 12th, 1988, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He attended Fort Dodge community public schools. On March 13th, 2005, Patrick started dating his high school sweet heart Malerie Walstrom. Who later on became his fiancée and mother of his child. On March 23rd, 2005, at 16 years old, Patrick received a heart transplant at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. In June of 2005, Patrick got baptized and on February of 2009 he was confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. On November 20th 2009, Patrick's son Brexton Alon Lee Hines was born. In January 2012, Patrick received his GED. Patrick was a very happy and outgoing person. He could put a smile on any ones face. bike riding. He really enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his son at the park. Patrick is survived by his fiancée of 8 years and his high school sweetheart Malerie Walstrom-Hines, his son Brexton Hines, his dog Callie, dad and mom Mike and Ann Garvey, grandmother Pat Worrel, grandfather Bruce Worrel and wife Tammy, other grandfather Wes Garvey, and aunt Heather Worrel. Also his future father and mother in law Mike and Melinda Bass, brother in law Matt Bass, and sister in law Miranna Bass. Patrick is preceded in death by his brother Sean Michael Hines, grandmother Jeanette Garvey, his Nana Pauline Worrel, great grandmother Pauline Bonde, and also what would have been his Nanny Karen Morton. Patrick was a great person. His smile was contagious, and he touched the hearts of everyone he met. He is and always will be deeply loved and missed by everyone that knew him.
