Daryl Wayne Barber

Daryl Wayne Barber, 76, of Monmouth, Iowa, died on Tuesday morning, September 25, 2012, at his home in rural Monmouth, Iowa. A private graveside service and burial will be held in Kansas at a later date. A Natural Journey Farewell with cremation has taken place. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family. Daryl Wayne Barber was born on June 27, 1936 in McPhearson, Kansas to George Thomas and Violet Crystal (Smith)Barber. He grew up in Kansas and then moved to Colorado. He married Glenda Mae Edwards on May 24, 1968 in Denver, Colorado. Daryl had worked as an auto mechanic from 1968 to 1980 and then as a truck driver from 1980 to 1996. Daryl enjoyed working on cars and reading western novels. Those left to honor his memory include, his wife, Glenda Barber of Monmouth, IA; a son, Paul (Marva) Morgan of Salina, KS; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert, a sister, Robera, and 2 sons, Daryl, Jr. and Dale on July 24, 2012.
