Frank T. Bruno, age 100, of Ambler, died Thursday, October 11, 2012 in the Abington Memorial Hospital Abington, PA after a sudden illness.
Born in Ambler, he was the son of the late Frank and the late Concetta (nee Pingatore) Bruno. Frank served in the US Army 1st Infantry Division from 1943 to 1945 in the Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland campaigns.
He held many jobs in his lifetime including Pool Hall Owner, handyman, and Lot attendant at Phil's Tavern in Broad Axe.
Mr. Bruno was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Ambler and a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Frank was preceded in death by his Brothers Joe, Pete, Tony, Reds (Angelo), Jimmy and Dominick. He is survived by his Sister in Laws Rita. C. Bruno and Jenny Bruno and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends may call Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church 259 Forest Ave. Ambler, PA 19002 with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Msgr. Stephen P. McHenry, Pastor as Celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
