Story County Hospital. Their son, Paul Leonard Tipton was born on 15 April, 1958. The couple was active in the Nevada medical community for several decades. The couple enjoyed travel and eventually visited every state except Alaska. Ruth preceded Bill in death on 18 August, 2007. Bill is survived by his son Paul and his wife Sande, and their two children Bradlee and Michelle who live near St. Louis, Missouri. Bill was active in several men's organizations in the area. In 1946 Bill joined the Masonic Lodge and in 1950 became a member of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine and the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine in Des Moines where he enjoyed playing trumpet in their concert band. Bill was the youngest man to join the Nevada Lions Club when it started in 1948 and he was one of the last of the 88 original members. Bill was once the Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star at the same time his wife was the Worthy Matron. In late 2006, Bill moved to O'Fallon Missouri to be in the care of his son. While Bill lived in an assisted living facility and eventually a skilled nursing home, his son and family would visit him nearly daily. Memorials may be given in Bill's name to the First United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor's choice. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
