MARK TANDY MONTPELIER, Iowa - Mark Clifford Tandy, 42, of Montpelier, died on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, after many years of a courageous battle with diabetes and its' many complications. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Sharon Phillips of Jesus Mission will officiate. Casket bearers will be Jon Toyne, Seth Burdick, Jordan Hill, T. L. Burdick, Charlie Ford, and Jeremy Houseman. Burial will take place in Montpelier Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Moose Lodge. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the family in care of Paula Gillespie. Mark was born on August 22, 1970, in Davenport, the son of Paul and Inez Queen Tandy. He graduated from Muscatine High School, class of 1989. He enjoyed camping, swimming, watching movies and spending time with his friends and family, especially with his nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to all of his wonderful doctors over the years and to the clients and staff at the Muscatine Dialysis Unit where he spent a lot of his time in the past three years. You all made it bearable and even pleasant at times for him. They would also like to mention his special friends, Charlie and Sharon Ford. Those left to honor his memory include his sisters, Paula Gillespie and husband, Reid, of Muscatine, and Sarah Hill and husband, Jim, of Muscatine; one brother, Ray Tandy of Montpelier; nieces and nephews, T. L. Burdick and wife, Carmen of Muscatine, Heather Millsap and husband, Dwayne of Edwardsville, Kansas, Emilee Pamperien of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Jon Toyne of Cedar Rapids, Erika Toyne of Muscatine, Sheree Houseman and husband, Jeremy, of Muscatine, and Jordan Hill of Muscatine; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Seth, Tabitha, and Olivia Burdick, Chelsie Millsap, Kaylee Hayes, Chloe Hill, Avery Houseman, Garrett Robertson, and Ayla Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Cheryl Pamperien.
