FRANCISCO RIVAS MUSCATINE, Iowa - Francisco Rivas, 52, of Muscatine, died on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at his home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at the St. Mathias Church. The Reverend Joseph Sia of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish will officiate. Casket bearers will be David Rivas, Diego Rivas, Bernardo Rivas, Mario Rivas, and Arnulfo Rivas Jr. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held following the committal service at Gannon Hall. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Francisco was born on August 17, 1960, in Durango, Mexico, the son of Arnulfo and Carmen Rivas. He married Alicia Franco on April 11, 1986, in Mexico. He was a former resident of Santa Maria, California moving to Muscatine in 1995. He was a member of Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish and the Knights of Columbus.
