Armbruster, Robert Erwin Robert Armbruster died Friday, November 16, 2012. He was born in the Armbruster family home on Washington Avenue in Cedarburg on June 4, 1920 to John and Marie (nee Frank) Armbruster. Robert grew up in Cedarburg. Robert and Mary Aileen Behnke were married on May 21, 1949. They were married 61 years. Mary Aileen passed away on October 31, 2010. Bob is survived by daughter Joan ( the late Steve) Shipman of Weston, CT, son John (Patricia) Armbruster of Cedarburg, daughter Wendy (Ben) Diaz of Folsom, CA, and son Peter (Therese) Armbruster of Milwaukee. He is the loving grandfather of Stephen, Robbie, Michael, Anna Marie, Alina, John, Peter, Benjamin, Megan, Tyler, Leah, and Cassidy. Bob owned Armbruster Jewelers in Cedarburg. He was active with Cedarburg-Grafton Rotary Club, Cedarburg Lions' Club and many other organizations. Bob was a veteran of World War II. He was a navigator on a B-24, which flew missions in Europe. He was well-known as an historian of Cedarburg. 375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg, from 9-10 AM. Mass will follow at 10AM. Father Thomas Eichenberger will preside. Following Military Honors, Bob will be laid to rest beside his wife in the parish cemetery. The Cedarburg community has lost a dear friend. Bob will be missed greatly. May he rest in peace.
