Lydia E. Muhlenbruck

Lydia E. Muhlenbruck, of Latimer, Iowa, died on Friday, November 30, 2012 at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton, Iowa at the age of 96. Lydia Elizabeth Louise Imerman Muhlenbruck was born April 13, 1916, the oldest child of Fred and Freida Dohrmann Imerman in rural Hampton. She attended country school and graduated from Latimer High School in 1934. Lydia was united in marriage to Lloyd Muhlenbruck on March 28, 1940 at Marion Center Evangelical and Reformed Church of rural Latimer. The couple made their home in Latimer where Lydia worked with Lloyd in business operations, including the Latimer Produce Company. Lydia also served as a representative of Avon Cosmetics, as office receptionist for Dr. Robert Means, DDV, in Latimer, and as caretaker of the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Latimer. Lydia lived in Latimer until entering the Franklin General Nursing Facility in 2010. Lydia was a life-long member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer where she was baptized in 1916 and confirmed in 1930. Lydia is survived by three daughters, Rhogene Smith of Gray Court, SC, Carol Lubkeman and her husband, Ken, of Latimer, and Donna Tropp and her husband, David, of Glencoe, Ill, seven grandchildren, seven great-grand children, one step great-grand son, sister-in-law Marion Muhlenbruck of Latimer, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lloyd, in1998, three sisters, Meta Schermer, Edna Oltman, and Leona Troester, and one brother, Victor Imerman. Burial will take place in the Marion Center Cemetery, rural Latimer, Iowa.
