John J. Fultner, 81, of Andrew, Iowa, died suddenly on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at the Trinity Medical Center in Bettendorf, Iowa. A celebration of John's life will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, December 6, 2012, from the First Baptist Church in Maquoketa. There is no public visitation. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date in the Andrew, Iowa Cemetery. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family. John Junior Fultner was born on August 16, 1931 in Oregon County, Missouri, to Thomas and Pearl (Miller) Fultner. He grew up in Missouri and moved to the Maquoketa area where he met his future wife, Sharen Newcomb. They were married on May 21, 1957 in Maquoketa, Iowa. John had worked as a farmhand for area farmers for many years. He had also done construction work building homes and working on bridges. John was a member of the First Baptist Church in Maquoketa. He enjoyed fishing, especially for catfish, and camping in the Bellevue area. He was a general handyman and would help anyone if he could. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
