W-Madison. He was an avid conversationalist but he was the quintessential listener and always remembered important events in his friends' lives. Irvin is survived by his daughter, Denise Youngerman; son-in-law, Scott Deyo; step-grandson, Dr. Christopher (Dr. Abigail) Deyo; step-great-grandchildren; Michael and Claire Deyo; sister-in-laws Catherine Zitz, Cecile (Tom) Wilbourne, and Charlotte Walton; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Ellen Youngerman; and his beloved wife, Marion Youngerman. Funeral services will be held at the Calumet Park Chapel, 7535 Taft Street, Merrillville, Indiana at 11:30 AM on Thursday, December 6, 2012. Burial will follow in Calumet Park Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of services at the chapel. To provide an opportunity for friends to celebrate his life and share fond memories with Irvin's family, a memorial will be held in Madison, Wisconsin on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI, 53705. The memorial will be from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm with a prayer service at 3:00 pm conducted by Rabbi Laurie Zimmerman and Penny L. Andrews, BCC D. Min. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Jewish Social Services of Madison or the Overture Center for the Arts Community Outreach (Madison, WI).
