In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the family to be decided at a later date. Betty Lou Greene was born October 6, 1931 in Chariton, Iowa to Ferman and Etha (Dunshee) Greene. Betty's mother died when she was a baby and her grandparents, Charles and Lula Dunshee raised her. After high school she decorated cakes and worked at the telephone office. Betty graduated from Chariton High School in 1949 and married Marvin Pierschbacher on December 1, 1950 and they were blessed with three children: Allen, Jana, and Jay. Betty and Marvin ran Mother's Touch Café at the Russell Corner from 1983 until 1986. Betty loved to bake. She made biscuits for Hardees', cooked at the Sports Page, decorated cakes for Hy-Vee, had baked goods and made pies for 4 -H fair in Chariton, and sold home goods, and later retired from the Pella Hospital kitchen in 1994. Betty visited Allen in Brazil in 1992, her and Marvin volunteered at the Rio Grande Bible Institute in Texas for 15 years, she was a camp cook at Freedom Bible Camp and enjoyed cooking and baking for anyone who loved to eat. She graciously accepted that she could no longer do some things, but through her faith she found new strength. Betty went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2012. Her husband, Marvin preceded her through death on November 15, 2012. She is survived by her children: Allen (Nadine) Pierschbacher, Jana Belle, and Jay (Kim) Pierschbacher; grandchildren: Marvin, Lance (Debra), Alisa, Kurt, Tyler (Brooke), Trevor, Cole, and Jayme; two great grandchildren: Stephanie and Tiffany; sister, Evalee Hunerdosse; half siblings: Elizabeth Bellock and Howard Greene; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
